Please bring your camera and join us on social media. Our guides will share our social media handles and tags with you. We’ll provide water but if you tend to be thirsty you may want to bring your own water bottle. When it’s really hot out, we recommend an application of sunscreen on exposed parts of the body and a lightweight pair of sunglasses. During the cooler seasons it’s important to wear layers of clothing and consider bringing a hat, gloves and a scarf as Canmore is in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the weather changes frequently.

We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, birthday parties, bridal party celebrations, corporate team-building, convention activities and spousal programs). Please check our private tour requests for more details.

At this time, we only offer tours in English but with enough notice we maybe able to accommodate a private group request with language translation. Email info@albertafoodtours.ca to inquire and we’ll see what we can do to make it happen.

There are some stairs on a few stops of this tour and some terrain along a creekside path that would make this tour challenging for people with disabilities. Please contact info@albertafoodtours.ca to discuss before booking your tour.

We are a hardy bunch in Canada so we run our tours rain, shine, or snow. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. Dress in layers and pack an umbrella in case of sudden weather changes. It’s always best to check the weather conditions for your day’s event and dress appropriately.

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations. Our tour leaders will point them out as we tour so that you may always be comfortable.

Gratuities for all our vendor’s staff are included. Gratuities for our wonderful guide staff are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%. Thank you for asking and for being so considerate. You’re a savvy tipper!

We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.

To maximize your chances of getting the day, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard from our website or by calling 1-844-5239. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted.

Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can usually accommodate your needs. With humble apologies, our tours are not suitable for people following a vegan diet.

Absolutely not! Our tours combine historical facts, local culture and culinary insights into a unique 3.5 hour experience. Imagine joining the local outdoorsy culture walking along trails while soaking up the amazing views of the Rocky mountains and all the while eating our local artisan’s most delicious foods and hanging out with charming locals.

Parking is available a few blocks from our meeting point – behind the Bank of Montreal in the parking lot between 8 Street (also known as Main Street) and 7 Street (also known as Veteran’s Way).

The tours are recommended for children ages 14 and over. Children younger than 14 tend to get bored with the story telling, walking a fair distance and being social with adults for three and a half hours.
